Attached to St Mary’s there is a function space, known as the Seward Room, with a kitchen and toilet facilities, all of which are accessed through the church, up a small flight of steps (a ramp can be provided for disabled access). Currently the room is used regularly for after service refreshments and other church related meetings and activities, by a parent and toddler group, a knitting/needlecraft group and for band practice sessions.
On Friday mornings, Buriton’s ‘Outreach’ Post Office operates from the Seward Room, when tea and coffee are also served.
The Seward Room can be hired for various other activities, for example: amateur dramatic rehearsals, birthday parties etc.
The current hire charge is £6 per hour, which includes the use of the kitchen and utensils.
